questions on navigating with iBooks

Hi. Is there a way to navigate by smaller sections of text than pages when in iBooks? I have lines checked in the rotor, but that option still doesn't even show up in the rotor when I'm in my book. Any command with a keyboard or braille display, or a gesture using Voiceover would be helpfull. Also, Wehn I run my finger down the page, Voiceover announces the particular spot that I'm at, but the focus of the braille display stays at the top of the page. Is there a way to change this? Thank you.

All I do is pan down with the Braille display. One of the frustrations of iBooks, to be honest. I wish it would track through, when you move the focus around. But I believe the same reason that lines are not child elements in these pages, is the same reason that you cannot move the focus there with the display by using the finger on the screen.
I wish I had a better answer for you. I use iBooks a lot not just for pleasure, but I store all our Coast Guard manuals and reference works in it as PDF files. I wish I could navigate by line, and this is one way my PAC Mate used to be way better, although it could not really do PDF files as well of course. Not nearly.
